VoCo – Voice Community – began in 2016 as a concert showcasing the best of Auckland’s a cappella and community choirs. The brainchild of conductor Brian Lee, the event expanded in 2017 to include singing groups from around the world, including internationally renowned Swedish quintet The Real Group. Their contributions included workshops, masterclasses and a finale concert at Auckland’s Bruce Mason Centre. Take a look at our YouTube channel for a glimpse of some of their performances.

Now VoCo is back for 2018 to give some of the North Island’s best-loved choirs the chance to perform at an iconic venue – Holy Trinity Cathedral in Parnell – to connect with other singers and explore new repertoire.

The event is organised by Brian Lee, musical director of Stellar Singers, a community choir that includes singers from across the community. VoCo aims to bring singers and audiences together to explore and celebrate New Zealand’s singing heritage.
